hi , been offered a good deal on a new caravan , dealer said they can put owe 5 year old powrtouch mover onto the new caravan for 100 pounds with we plan to keep the caravan for 5 years or partx owe mower for 750 pounds they will put on a new one . powrtouch must have confidence in their product to offer a 5 year guarentee but what is the life expectancy ,& what can go wrong with them over a long period , we have had no problems with owe powrtouch & use it a lot , what do you think ,...thanks...hasbo

I am transferring a near 7 year old Reich to my new caravan, also having new alloy rollers fitted.

Its a risk, a bit like buying a secondhand car, but i am taking it as i rate the inboard motor setup on the Reich, and the only other mover i considered was the PT HD model, which is geared to carry 1500 kg up 25% slope.

But the mover is SLOW.

hasbo, our mover is on its 3rd caravan and 7 years old, I didnt pay for the change on buying the new vans. I would have paid the £100 if I had to, as this is much cheaper than the £750 your quoted for a new one

The dealer charged me £100 to transfer my mover, but screwed the job up and they had to pay for a new control unit from Powrtouch,£275 + vat.

I have a 12 year old Reich on its second van - still going strong. I had to fit new aluminium rollers last year when the old grit ones gave out but apart from that no problems.

You may wish considering a new supplier, Chichester Caravans Bromsgrove will move your old mover to your new van for free. You may wish to discuss this with your supplier and suggest that they do the same. Had my last mover for 6 years transferred between vans. Recently bought a new van so opted for new mover as I knew I would be keeping the van for at least 5 years. Would not be without it.
