Fabriccoatings have improved so much that a hydrostatic head of 10000 is readily available, I have seen jackets quoting such a figure.

I don't see a hydrostatic head of 3000 being a 'con', in fact 3000 is very very good, assuming the fabric, coatings, seams and zips are all in good order, then it will not leak.
A mere 700 HH head is considered waterproof, I have camped in harsh conditions with a tent of 1000 HH without any water ingress, a 2000 HH is common now in even the very low cost tents.

So the 3000HH would not be a concern for me, the price - well ???

Don't understand why anybody would buy one at that price, we paid £396 for Gateway Air 390 ,and £150 for annexe, has multi point inflation from the inside which I prefer and is on 2nd season now, seems to me that many of the air awnings are overpriced.

How basic can an awning skirt get ? You slide it in and peg down the ends , on ours I have fitted extra peg point to keep the awnimg skirt from blowing in really windy conditions. The worst part is sealling over the wheel arches. I have tried many different solutions.

That's a lot of money to be paying for an awning , we paid £25o.oo for a used one , use probably 3 or 4 times and it's pretty much the same size as that and same colouring and we are happy with that £75o.oo is a lot of money to some people , plus we got all the interior stuff, I mean an annex for the kids ,extra pegs and all sorts with ours and barely used .

Hi Hutch
We had tried everything and eventually made our own about 5 years ago sheet of thin plywood shaped to fit in wheel arch, hinged base of 3x2 and screwed a figure of 8 piece of plastic in line with the awning skirt rail all painted white and coachman sticker fitted, stand up in wheel arch and skirt fits through it, no draughts and skirt cannot fall down
