primus water heater 2470

hi , just bought my 1st van , a 93 eldiss knight and its fitted with above heater and water heater but the manual is in german . the panel has a + and - dial , a switch with a drip , a switch with a tap and 2 other switches with lightning on . not too bothered about the heating but i need help to suss out how to heat the water , thx

I am not familiar with this heater but if you look here http://arcsystems.biz/ you will find installation instructions for model 2490 Primus.

Looking at Fig 5. wiring I would suggest that the dial with + - is the thermostat, switch with tap is the pump on/off connected at , switches with lightning are mains to the two stage immersion heater. Finally are you sure that the remaining switch is a drip and not a gas flame which could be the means of switching the gas heating on/off.

The poster at that time asked for a copy of manual but did not appear to get one.

Also found posted by Gary from ARCSystems, who is recognised as an expert on van heating systems, this info re Primus

With system filled with water, Mains Electricity on, Battery in place. Press button with gas flame and burner should light also green light above will light. The two with Lightning are the electric heating and one with two flashes will give 2KW heat the one with one flash 1KW heat and both together 3KW heat.

I do have all the manuals for the 24xx series heaters, as said though Bernard is your man but that phone number is out of date and I don't have the new number!

So have a word with Alde International at Wellingborough Northants, they can also help with spares and advice and hopefully Bernard's new number?

It seems that maybe that's the correct number after all?...at least it's ringing! if it is, thanks Bill for finding it.

I also note the Primus information on my website includes the common wiring setup so should help solve the problem.
