problem tap

I have a problem with the tap in the kitchen - it is a whale chrome tap with lift up lever. I cannot get any flow either hot or cold through it although the same taps are working OK in the shower and bathroom. I am wondering if there is a problem with the micro switch. Has anyone had a similar problem and could the micro switch itself be replaced or does it need a complete new tap. Any help and suggestions would be very welcome

I am not sure how the whale tap comes to bits but to check it is the micro switch at fault, open the kitchen tap and then the toilet tap enough to work the it's micro switch. This will switch the pump on and water should then flow from the kitchen tap.
