I can't seem to see how to reply other than to a previous poster

I have been away for 10 weeks and missed all the run up to the new site
I also get this several times every time I pick a topic

I have the same problem , the warning text at the top, the lack of clarity on how to post a reply, and I have acres of white space between things vertically.
