Hello all.

Having researched alot of caravan covers lately I am close to purchasing one of the above covers for my Lunar Quasar 525.

I am however surprised that you only receive a 3yr warranty, I know this is more than some, but for the price you pay I would expect it to last longer than this.

My question is does anyone have a protec cover older than 3yrs old, and if so, in what condition is it. Is it still fit for pourpose?. How are you looking after it?.

On the flip side of the coin, What other covers are being used by anyone?. How are they.?

The reason I have decided to buy a cover having recently moved house, my van is now stored at home under trees, and the amount of sap and leaves all over the van already amazing.

Any comments or opinions would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Mike

Our Protec cover is into it's 4th Winter and still fine, (I wouldn't be without it)

You may not get any 'longterm' feed back on covers, as it appears on these forums that a lot of caravaners change their caravans on a regular basis.

This doesn't apply to me as we are on our 4th caravan in 37 years!

Hi Mike, the easy answer to that is chop the trees down, problem solved.Only joking,I,ve now owned a purple line cover for 4 years, used end of sept until easter time every year.

Very happy with the covers performance, money well spent, and cheap at the price.

Anthony.

Bought a new ProTec cover for our 2006 model Ace Supreme Sunstar and used it over the winter three times.

It was a great cover and kept the caravan clean. No obvious signs of any damage to the paintwork or windows etc.

It did wear through very slightly on a couple of pressure points but nothing serious and they supply you with some spare material to make the odd patch or two. We never bothered.

Swapped the caravan for a newer Ace and the cover doesn't fit because the newer models are wider. Also the door is in a diffeent place! I did enquire about getting it modified but they said it would cost nearly as much as buying a new one.

I would say if you have a tree sap problem then go for a cover.

To anyone out there who is reading this and has an Ace Supreme Sunstar or any of the other Swift Group twin axles that had the fixed bunk bed at the back offside, if you want a Protec cover, send me a pm and we can discuss a price!!

Hi Mike,

I am also looking to purchase a cover for my Lunar Freelander 525 & welcome any advice. Did Protec offer you a discount for being a member of either the caravan club or camping & caravan club?

I used 'Specialised Accessories' for my cover. From my research they are every bit as good. From memory they did give a good discount for CC membership. Also they offer free repairs to any holes and tears etc.

My father in law wanted one and when I called them on his behalf they offered me a continuing loyalty discount even though it was not for me - this was about 20% plus they said if I did go ahead personally and buy another I could still have the discount - brilliant service and a high quality product
