Put our deposit down on a 2018 Elddis Supreme from Preston C&M. It's a dealer special, taking the best of the Avante and the Affinity and making the van we fell in love with.

Not seen that version but I do have to say that Eldiss do appear to have the best designers and the caravans we saw at the Glasgow show looked very good. I hope the recent takeover will improve the build and all goes well with the new caravan.

Thanks, Ray. The design is very good and the build quality impressed us. That said, there's only one way to be sure. We expect to take delivery this time next year...

Congratulations on your chosen van. Just remember that the handover is your first chance to really go through everything with a very fine tooth comb. good luck!

Thanks, Martin. We are completely new to caravanning. One of the reasons we chose this dealer is that we have heard their handovers are comprehensive. We're looking forward to learning how to do this.

Hi Panther. You have? Lucky you! Those 8footers are amazing. Bit big for us, being newbies, we went for a 554...transverse island bed, rear washroom.
How was your handover? We heard that PC&M are pretty good.

It is worthwhile videoing the handover instructions if you can. No matter how good the handover is and how well you listen there is a lot to take in and being able to play it back later will help.

I was very impressed with the handover,
we are seasoned caravaners returning after a few years break so he ran through most things quite quickly but was happy to go into great detail on things we weren't sure about & we were given as much time as we wanted to check everything worked & we were happy

The only thing I would say is (reading other posts & forums it is common at a lot of dealers) I don't feel a PDI was carried out before hand & that I was doing the PDI myself, & while it had been washed I don't think the caravan had been valeted,
But they were happy to sort out the couple of niggles & clean areas that I wasn't completely happy with,

I have heard of dealers selling second hand vans with a warranty and not doing a PDI just relying on nothing coming up that costs as much or more than it costs in man hours to do a decent PDI. I would expect the same with new vans and often no PDI is done.

Hi Martin. We heard this about some dealers but the one we chose is local and has a fairly good reputation, which we're going to hold them to! Forewarned is forearmed as they say!

we couldn't take them up on the offer but well worth it if you are new to caravans

Have just bought an Elddis Riva 554 dealer special, there are nice upgrades on these vans and they are good value in my opinion, not worth the 4 grand extra for the Affinity.
