Steve predictably posts the old PC website "vote" gag again.

Sets HIS rules.

Hey presto Mod 1 pops up. All the insult and affensive posts last night brushed aside and straight into the Vote thread.

Yesterday the Mod was concerned about what might offend, this morning a some what dubiuous Vote thread is more important.

What kind of Moderation is that ?

Due to the nature of the way this site is used a fair vote is very unlikely !!! As I'm sure Steve knows.

Hopefuly a few lessons have been learnt and the Mod could actually actually forget the vote and give Photo's a trial run for a month and see how it goes from now on.

So Mod, lets actually have a bit of Moderation from you and give the members here a Moderate chance!

Vote not to Vote and to give peace a chance ;-)

Is it your intention to insult me at every chance you get?

I have not read the post from last night and frankly do not care. Just because some people want to find out what others think seems to upset you! Why? you have proven on numurous occasions that you do not like things that do not go you way.

Live with it! everyone on this forum has as much say as you or I and frankly I think you acted like a school kid yesterday with your offencive pictures and comments.

I like the idea of asking what people think, you like the idea of your ideas are the only ones. simple.

Why would the vote be unfair? what has the nature of the forum (not site) have to do with how it will come out.

I thank the mod for taking notice, they had the chance to just cut it out and say no, or yes with one posting.

I have my opinions of who you are, this post just helps to confirm it

I cannot understand some peoples comments - for example Royston, quote

"No, I much prefered the old system where we only discussed Technical information" -

For goodness sake how many forums do you need to discuss Technical issues, get real. The pics affect just Our Website and Chit Chat. Royston, technical issues have NEVER been discussed there so go to the forums that do, theres at least seven to choose from. Nobody is forcing you to look in Our Website. I for one, along with many others wouldn't bother even logging into the site if you had your wish.

cris I always thought voting was a good idea as we live in a democracy. I'm not too sure now though because Royston has voted No but never posts under Our Website, the forum that it affects. It's a funny old world :O(

Well then Steve, you are VERY wrong. I have ONLY EVER posted as "cris" and will only post as "cris". And I will be happy to tell you if I decide to change my post or 1 only registered email address.

I was made aware of your little snide remarks after I went to Germany.

You do a fair job on the insult front yourself, so your comment is a little rich

It is not a case of things going my way, that is NEVER going to happen on an open web site forum!

I'm asking for the new feature to be given a chance ! Instead of a vote by a few that may pop up before the Mods deadline !

And with some of the insulting religeous posts still remaining

people who have not been on the site in the past few days are likely to get a little confused!

I like many people ideas on here and respect them, but some of the actions I like to question.

So a fairly harmless photo was unacceptable to some yesterday and you obviously get a kick throwing your school kid comments in response, if what I posted was childish and unacceptable and what BRian and Lol posted last night is.

I would question how much you actually care about this forum.

I've asked that the Mod to actually take moderate action and gives everyone a chance to see if it can work rather than just blow it out of the water.

I use web cams and photo phones to get work done and view jobs, many useful tips could be helped and aided by photo's on here and it would be a shame to lose that opportunity within a few days of it starting.

On another note, good luck with your leg today!

And that is genuine comment as well.

Hi LB

Whilst at the moment no "techy pics" are here - I have seen (and it looks like Martyn on the "Vote" thread has seen the same) the techy sections of some classic car and other hobby forums inundated with guys who want to show everyone the superb job they have done on a bit of their car or a particular widget.

As such the superb research and "help" potential of such forums is reduced to a "Look at me - Aren't I clever" list of boring inane pictures.

The thought of someone for example asking for help on how to deal with a de-laminated floor and posting a picture of said floor, answered by a techy guy who says drill holes and squirt this in and who posts a picture of a hole and syringe and then a happy caravanner standing by said floor pointing and grinning inanely just seems a bit silly to me when the same information can be downloaded from a variety of sources.

I am all for pictures - but hyperlinks seem a good compromise or possibly a Gallery as Lol suggested.

Mind you the thought of a picture of say, overflowing bins, mucky toilets and awful pitches, in a "name and shame" exercise for some poor Campsites could be useful!

Clive sometimes it takes a big gun to get to the calm if you know what I mean.

The photo's are hosted on other servers so it should not worry this site to much.

We got a new toy and it went a bit silly, I didn't throw my kids toys away when they wouldn't behave with them at first.

I feel that the Photo features need to be given a chance and some guidance.

So can't we forget the silly voting business and give it a fair shot and some sort of guidance!

I cant see people posting smileys or there van with every post they make, so it will not be like other forums unless they upgrade it.

As regards who can vote - surely it is open to all. After all I have never been to the Houses of Parliament but I still vote to but one of the idiots in there.

Democracy is a funny thing - it really does not work well if people say only you should vote because you do this that or the other.

A Free vote for everyone - regardless of who posts where please Moddy!!

Clive I agree that pics can be useful in lots of ways. My thoughts of posting pics was of family, caravans, sites, pets, showing pics on techie issues, hobbies like photography etc. We have our own site called MSN LodgeBuddies and it works a treat. There's people of all ages from around the world and I accept some in this forum are in their senior years but please if you are feeling a little grumpy in life please dont let it affect us all. If we had a separate forum/gallery, call it what you want ok. but because of some Victors its wrong to make a total ban. OK make a gallery, great, then the Victors cant grumble because nobody forces them to peep inside but you can bet your bottom dollar that they will and moan about something in there.

Hi cris - the vote should show the moddy's what most people want. I have no problem with pictures on here, but do worry that it could go the way of other Forums as myself and Martyn have seen.

At the end of the day there will be a compramise that will "work" - and no doubt the Forum will be better for it.

I just think that after the umpteenth picture of a problem tow-hitch I could possibly loose the will to live.

The analogy is sound

Clive a lot of memebers only visit this site at weekends and at odd time.

Photo's may attract more caravanners to the site!

Some who can't get the hang of posting photo's may not bother to vote or say no because they will feel left out or whatever as happened at a Forum I belonged to a while back!

Give it a fair chance and Guidance is all I ask !

Hi Cris

I know you feel strongly on this and that is great as I am sure the debate you have started will result in a beter facility for us all. My concern is just because we can does not mean that we should. I posted this as a comment on an adjacent thread:-

Clive. With respect the point I am making is that it is VERY unlikly that we will get a fair or fully representative vote.

This site is quite basic, so you should not get over come with piccies here.

Wrong...... you say you vote but have never been to Parliament, but do you vote on the laws/rules of this country, no you dont. In this forum you will be voting on rules/laws whether to accept photos or not. As I said, wrong anology.
