Quick Hello

Hi, just wanted to post a little bit about our caravanning history

I have been a subscriber to the magazine for about 12 months now since we bought our first van. Our first van was a 2004 Swift Conqueror 640 SAL Climatic (Air Con) which we thoroughly enjoyed but after a few trips realised that the layout wasn't quite right for our family. Having 2 small children and 2 dogs we needed more a more flexible layout with a central dinette. We starting looking around early in the summer and came across the brand new Elddis Avante 646 which seemed to suit our requirements. After a month or so of thinking about upgrding we finally decided to take the plunge and order one. We picked our new van up last week and I am over the moon with the quality of the van and the finish. The only problem I had was when I went top pick it up from the dealer they hadn't even washed it. Is this the norm??? Anyway that said we are just waiting to get away in it to put it to the test.

Hi Warren & Lisa, welcome to the Practical Caravan forum and congratulations on the new caravan.
I'd have expected the dealer to have washed the caravan, ours had been cleaned when we picked it up from our dealers.
They are supposed to carry out a PDI which one way and another you will have paid for, didn't you complain when they did the handover? I certainly would have!
Good luck with the maiden voyage.

Thanks for the reply

Yes I have complainerd to the dealerprincipal and have now received the 12 month service f.o.c so has saved me some money next year and also made sure the van was to my standard!
