Hi Marie

Fitting a radio is not to difficult depending on the age and type of van it is sometimes posible to find a spare fuse link for a power source if not it can be taken from the battery but a 2amp fuse must be fitted inline, most radio kits come with all the nessesary fittings. the choice of speakers is wide, undershelfe pods are hard to find, but Motor World still have a good selection. hope this helps.

Have fun

Hi,

first of all don't wire into your lighting curcit, you need to run a feed from your battery with a suitable fused feed (5amp) at maximum. Use 18s gauge cable for this requirement. Your aerial needs to be FM/AM to get the best reception, A lot of aerial splitter/booster boxs such as a omni aerial are set up for this and the plug in is marked FM/AM. As I said do not hook into your lighting curcit as this is not suitable for radio/C.D as their amperage are not suitable as they 1) do not have enough loading on their lighting cable and 2)they can flutuaite on their feed.

Marie, you could take the feed from the 12v socket outlets - how many vanners actually use these? As for aerials, opt for the Status radio aerial, it does need a small hole drilling through the caravan wall, so use plenty of mastic, but these do actually work.
