hi everyone, in laws are thinking of getting this new sleeping system.

i know some of you have put some info on another one of my questions but this is just about the duvalay.

do you have this system?.

how much better is it than the usual turn the bed over in the caravan?.

has it made your caravanning more comfortable?.

do you think its worth the money?.

they would love to hear your comments before they go and spend £250 on the new system.

thanks for your help

One of our best purchases yet. Much more comfortable than either sleeping bags or duvets. I actually sleep better in the caravan than I do at home now.

Hi Ian

Could you tell which brand you bought as I an interested. I have a Raskelf and I do think they are a bit pricey so would like to know your alternative and in what way they differ from Raskelf. With thanks

Hi Jo-anne

I bought a Duvalay last year after originally just buying the memory foam mattress part. Our bed was VERY hard and it has made a big difference to comfort. The duvet part attaches to the mattress with a full zip and they both have covers for washing purposes. The complete thing rolls up and fits easily in the locker during the day and makes bed-making very quick.

The pros are they are nice and cosy as the duvet part cannot fall off during the night, but I do think they are a tad over-priced but I don't think there is an alternative at present, other than using two duvets, which is the next best thing.

You can get the Duvalay with a 4.5 tog duvet or a 13.5 tog. I was advised to go for the 4.5 and use extra blankets if needed in the winter, unless you did a lot of winter caravanning, and I have found this works for us. Hope this helps. Chris

we bought the 2ins gold topper for the caravan and find it to be excellent, the caravan bed is more comfortable that the bed at home. We did look at the silver topper but went on the advice of the woman on the phone and havent regretted it.

Try http://www.jonic-uk.co.uk/shop/2/index.htm They have a mattress topper shaped for a fixed bed not an direct alternative for a duvalay which IMHO is overpriced..

Ian it is not the matress topper which makes the duvalay so good, but the way in which it is combined into one unit with under sheet and duvet.

On the point of buying a pair of Duvalays despite the price.

How are they for size as I usually get a king size sleeping bag and the Duvalays are all one size albeit 2 tog ratings ? I know they are open along one side but I am 6' 2" and 18 stone - will I get in one ??

I think it is great that there is so much choice for bedding in caravans now. We have a fixed bed and have purchased bedding from Jonic ( just to correct previous post web address is www.jonic-uk.co.uk). The service we recived was second to none and the fit was perfect. We have since been back to them to order a duvet and cover, when I rang to order these the lady also mentioned that they are launching a new product at the NEC, hopefully giving more choice!
