RE: Age question on our van.

Hi,

Some months ago my wife e- mailed you to ask for help in confirming the age of our caravan, we have been disappointed as new readers to have received no reply. Our van is a Cotswold windrush 13/2 built by cotswold coach craft ltd, serial no. co3627,chassis no. B6035 NCC Cert no.TC63724. Any chance you can help with this as we can't insure without an age ? Sorry you are disappointed at no reply.

This will probably be because no one knows the answer.

The forum is contributed to by users of all ages, so it is only by chance that someone may know what happened to Cotswold Coach Craft, who they sold out to, or were taken over by, and then trying to find out if the new owners kept all the records.

It may well be the case that the company just folded, and all the info was lost.

I am sure that if any user does have any information , they will only too gladly pass it on to try and help you.

Addendum to above posting:

Having just put in a google search, I came up with the following information:

Production by Cotswold Coachcraft ceased in 1988 and continued to be manufactured by the then new owner Swift until 1990. It says something of the build quality when Cotswold Caravans circa 1976 can still be seen on the Rally field

I suggest you ring Swift and ask them.

Hi Steve - I have just searched for Cotswold Windrush on MSN and in the April 2007 issue of Practical Caravan is an article on renovating your model van. Perhaps there may be a back issue available, if so they usually give a brief history of the van in the opening paragraph. This may be able to shed some light on your quest. Nigel the editor of the magazine is a frequent contributer to this forum so if you were to post a new topic on the forum marked for his attention he may be able to retrieve the back issue information for you.
