Re Possible Hire Of my Caravan

Hi everybody, i currently own a nearly new coachman amara 520/4 caravan in the lake district and when im not using it i would like to hire it out to locals and familys who can enjoy it as much as we do. is it a good idea? and should i supply my tow car with it? or does someone want to give me a booking now !!!

Hi Paul

It's up to you of course but have you thought this idea through properly?

There would be implications which would affect your caravan insurance and you would need to inform your car insurance company if you supplied your towcar because you would be using the car for hire or reward.

hi, yes i do appriciate that comment and i have looked into it and there are self drive hire insurance companies out there, one in particular called compucar looks ok. does anyone else do this with there caravan??

it wouldn't be me. Theres nothing I would hate more than someone being in my caravan you dont know what they may be doing similarly with the car they could waste your car if they cant drive very well bad idea all together

Hi Paul,

I'd be interested in hiring it as I'm thinking of buying a caravan for the first time and would love the opportunity to try one out a few times first - although I would need it on a site as I wouldn't want to tow it!
