Realistic expectation for mpg

Just looking at an apache autotrail 700 - ducato 2.8 jtd engine -and was wondering what a realistic mpg would be for this vehicle.

I'm guessing that for most 4-6 berth vehicles of this type that anything close to 30 mpg would be a bonus and that realistically it would be closer to 25!

Cheers

Good luck, if not optimistic.

I have an Escape 686 3500kG on a 2013 plate with a 2.3D Ducate, I average around 25 mpg.

The Apache 700 is a 4250 kG unit as I recall. Perhaps with a 2.8 TD and Euro 6 you may get 25 mpg.

Lovely looking unit ! V Nice indeed

Also have a 2.3 but 2006 model 47, 000 miles on average 25/28 mpg. We did appear to get slightly more when we put the Super fuel in in Spain on a couple of times

Again only have a 2.3Lt but that pulls our Auto Trail Tracker ok, in fact been over passes up to over 1600 meter high. Get approx. 30 - 32 per gallon on a longish run staying at max speed of 60, just a tad faster than most lorries.MPG does depend to a great deal to how you drive them plus weight etc. Most makes are built for comfort not speed LOL.
