I put speakers in the rear of the Oklahoma

I put them in the bottom of the roof lockers over the bed pointing downwards

I also have a switch over the bed to switch the radio off

Underneath the roof lockers there is a plastic wood coloured piece that screws into the bottom of the locker in a few places The wiring runs through that and you could easily run your speaker wires the same way

I didn't realise that and ran the wires inside the front of the roof lockers using white mini trunking

Hope that helps

Thanks John, you've come up with the info again, did you use bailey speakers, says 4-8 ohms on radio so was looking for smallish ones, even something on brackets to avoid having holes into the cupboards

I used Pioneer car radio speakers from Motor World but I couldn't seem to find any pod speakers so I used a large hole saw to fit them in the shelf

You can leave grills over the holes when you sell if required

Hello Dave,

I understand you are looking for pod or surface mount speakers. I would be surprised if you couldn't get them from Halfords or other high street automobile accessory supplier s, but if not look on Ebay for home cinema surround sound speakers. I can't think why but some people are selling odd ones or twos.

Just as an aside, I installed a radio + changer unit in a caravan a few years ago and simply put the speakers in the front cupboards on pods i.e. didn't cut holes in any panels. No noticeable degradation of sound though I assume there would have been some.

Found some light covers in the CAK tank catalogue that look like they would cover the speakers inside the cupboard so i will probably cut the holes out I dont mind leaving them in as they wont be megabucks just wanted a 'factory fit'appearance. Thanks for all the suggestions

Hi DD

I just made a second shelf just above the speakers with a batten front and back to clear the speakers and a lip on the top at the front so that things weren't ready to fall out when the door was opened

have moved radio to just under clock, wiring harness comes from corner so just had to remove insulating tape and refit.Have slight problem, will it be better to move amplifier and have a slightly longer input lead from aerial or leave it where it is and have a longer amplified lead to radio unit?

Have been to Maplins and they have a pair of speakers but no grills so still looking but minor challege, running 4 core ribbon cable to rear tomorrow.
