I'm not too sure if it's too far for you but a few miles north on the A9 from the CC site at Dalchalm, Brora, a small unclassified road goes off to the left at Lothbeg and after some miles joins up with the A897 Helmsdale to Forsinard road. This is called Glen Loth. Along that very quiet single track road there are literally thousands of deer. I've also spotted golden eagles. Deer can also be seen once you join the A897 to Forsinard and the RSPB have a reserve there at Forsinard.
Again at Brora, deer can be seen on the drive around Loch Brora and Strath Brora, another quiet single track road.
