Red Penant & Insurance

Hi
We are travelling to France for the first time with our caravan, including myself, hubby and 3 children.
I have just had a quote from the CC for their Red Penant Insurance and was quoted nearly £190 for their basic cover.
Although, I appreciate that their insurance is very comprehensive and a good one to go with, I wanted to know whether anyone had used any other companies and how they compared on prices as this seemed a little bit steep.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Sam

I've fpund that separating out the breakdown and personal insurance elements has been cost effective. I've got an annual European breakdown policy with Britannia Rescue arranged by the CSMA, and an annual holiday cover policy arranged as a corporate benefit via my employer. Total cost of both is around £140 a year. Having said that, I believe Red Pennant is more comprehensive in some areas, especially around having more flexibility around caravan recovery and holiday continuation. You pays your money and takes your chances etc etc.

I asked a similar question re C&CC overseas medical and breakdown cover which was via Europ assist. It was quite a bit cheaper than CC. There were a number of replies some good experience other not so. try a search and you should see the responses. In the end we went for CC.

The Forum search does not seem to be too good, so here is the post topic title it is some 2-3 pages back "Is C&CC holiday insurance good?
