Red Shoot camping Site - New Forest - Rip Off??

Just got their day tarif and found it amazing!

Adults £5.50, Children £3.50, Car £1.70, Day Visitor £1.00, Dogs £1.00, Elec H/U £3.20, Awning £2.10, Gazebo £5.0.

And this was only the bits that applied to me!! They like to charge for a lot more.

Am I out of touch or does the above represent "normal" prices these days. We usually use CL's (highest cost we have paid is £10 per night all inclusive) but wanted a site in the New Forest for a friend who is recovering from an operation and could not find that many CL's in the area we wanted.

I have been on this site as a day visitor myself and have had a beer many times in the Red Shoot Pub. The camp site is ok but nothing special.

Anyone any views?

I have not been charged separatly elswhere and can remember seeing this on a thread some time ago.

What about the other costs?

Any comments

no,they are not allowed to charge for electricity separately unless it is metered.what they are supposed to do is consolidate it into the pitch price ie pitch

I think I prabably am out of touch re the large commercial sites. Just goes to show what excellent value the CL's are.

I found the separate charging at the Red Shoot ludicrous. I know

Hi Klarky,

coulden't agree more there are more hidden charges than the current goverment. Well must sign off as I think I am going to pass wind and I don't want the goverment to find out about that as they will have me under section 5 of the Health and Safety at Work Act, Harmful Ommisions into the Atmosphere and they will place a charge on me.
