cooked pork stroganoff for supper. Quite impressed with it. Had to brown the pork first tho but it cooks quite quickly when you consider that it's an upside down cooker - the element is in the lid. It's only 400watts so ideal for the van. Am going to try a quiche next.
Had one for many years but it's getting past its best now, replacements are a forbidding price. Anyway can't praise Remoska enough but our version gets very hot on the casing. Be very careful where you lay the lid down. We cook curries in it and cut the meat up quite small and don't brown it first because it will go hard if you do. The smell will drive your fellow campers crazy and will have them coming around with their plates. Larger pieces of meat or sausages are better browned off first. Try a whole chicken in it but cover top with foil (mind it does not touch the lid. Happy Days.
We are def packing it for our forthcoming trip to Spain/Portugal. The recipe book it came with is quite extensive. I did not know what they cost as it was a gift but I've just looked at it at the Lakeland online store -yikes! £150 =
We have two Remoska. Originally it was one foe home and one for the van.
We never use the oven at home or in the van.
We bake. Scones, bread, cakes. All meats. You need to see the Yorkshire puds.
If you need any quick and simple recipes let me know.
