Removing plastic taste

Last season I bought the kit to use mains water supply, complete with blue, drinking quality hose. Each time I have used it I have noticed a "plastic" taste to the water, even when used to make coffee. I have tried leaving water treated with Milton in it for a couple of days, but with no discernible effect. Has anyone got a solution (pardon the pun!), as I am concerned that I may have the same problem if I buy new hose, Thanks.

I suggest you return it to the retailer you purchased it from as not fit for purpose.
Food grade hose should not produce any leached taste into the eater flowing through it., explaining the problem.

Have you checked that the taste is there without using the external food grade hose?

From time to time, batches of caravans seem to get complaints about bad taste from the pipework used within the caravan - you need to eliminate that first before taking action against the external hose supplier.

We never use the caravan water system for drinking water or beverages, we have a couple of plastic bottles which contained Eau de Tesco 'spring' water and we simply fill them at the drinking tap on site as and when we need them. We reserve the caravan water system for washing up and showering.

Have you tried running water through it at home & then making a brew ?? to confirm that it is the pipe.

As Sir Deli Dave mentioned about a water filter jug, we use one of these as all of our water comes from our on-board tank, we just carry a few spare filters & change them when required.

In fact it's that cheap at just £10.16p. I'v bought a spare one ( just in-case :p )

Like Parksy, we never use water via the aquaroll for drinking and brewing up. We only use it for washing up and showering. We have two lidded jugs, which we fill with fresh water straight from the site tap to fill the kettle for a hot brew and use bottles of mineral water for drinking.
