Renault Espace Towing Mirrors

Hello, I am soon (well next April) to be the proud owner of a Bailey Bretagne caravan and I am new to towing caravans as well. I own a 2001(51) Renault Espace and would like to hear from anyone who has experience with using towing mirrors with this model. Any recommendations on make of mirrors, ease of fitment (it's a Renault so it's bound to be difficult!) and any towbar tips would be useful as we have yet to get this item either.

Thanks - Simon

Simon, i have a 2001 Espace as well, and have found the only mirrors that are any good are Milenco mirors, which clamp to the wing mirror surround.

They are good, very litle vibration, and very easy to fit and remove.

Simon, whatever you do,,dont get a Renault tow bar, they are far too expensive for what they are.

Get one fitted at a good alternative tow bar fitter.

The wiring can be a nightmare on these cars, the person who fitted mine took almost a whole day to sort out the wiring, due to renaults complex system used on the Espace.

Hi Simon, couldn't agree more with Damian - use a local tow bar specialist, it's generally the same product at about 60% of a Franchised Dealer's cost. I used to tow with a '92 Espace and found that because it was a wider car & through vision was excellent on my then '91 Lunar Delta I didn't need extra mirrors, but I believe the law has now hardened on this. I use Milenco mirrors on my current car too, and as Damian says they're pretty good. Have fun!

Hello Simon,

I have a pair of Millenco mirrors which are redundant since I changed my car. I found them very satisfactory on my Vectra. If you are interested contact me on blakey.m@tiscali.co.uk
