repairs to elldis aluminium caravan

1st caravan duffer here. How do I go about repairing a couple of splits in the front of the aluminium hull? Can I just seal it or is it a job for a service centre (expensive?)

Rosemary,

What sort of splits in the aluminium? Are they in the middle of a panel or at a seam edge? Also how many, how long, accident damage or "just happened"?

It's a shame you can't post a picture, but if the splits are away from a seam, then you should be able to patch over the top.

Thank you for responding! However, what started out as a couple of holes has turned out as I had suspected it might into a fairly major rebuild of the whole front of the van. Hoping not to have to go above the window ledge at this point but it is a possiblity. Fortunately got a brother with a bit more technical knowledge than me but would be grateful for anyone's help who has rebuilt the front end of a caravan! We are hopeful to do it from the inside but all the wood is totally rotten. Any hints?!! At least the rest of the van is ok for it's age. Thanks Rosie
