Replacing corner stay ALKO chassis

I need to replace one of the front stays on my ABI van. Got a new stay but wondered of the bolts are kept in place or will I have to pull up the carpet etc to get to the heads of them?

I don't know for sure about your van, but I would think the steady is held on by three coach bolts. Each bolt will have a square under the head so that when it's tightened, the square bites into the wood floor. If you undo the nuts without pushing against the bolt, you should be OK. Your problems will arise if the drillings on the new steady don't match those on the old.
