Replacing wall boards

Hi guys. This is probably the most talked about topic so I will just add to it.
I bought a Bailey Ranger 2004 and i have found damp at front side and around the bathroom window.
My question is this - Once the damp ply is removed is it possible to leave the existing dry panels and put new ply over these to cover the full wall? I dont want to remove any boards that arent affected by the damp but i feel the laminate finish on the boards may cause moisture between it and the new boards that go on top.

I hope this makes sense.

The big problem with trying to micro repair damp in caravans is what you can normally see is only the top of the iceberg! You need to strip back the affected area, untill you find no hint of damp or rot, and replace all the affected timber. At the same time you must establish the source of the water ingress and fully repair that as well otherwise repairs will be pointless, and the punderlying problem will come back to bite you.

Once the affected material is removed , you could just overskim the old (unaffected) panels, but that might make some of the furniture not fit quite correctly, and it's added weight, but that is your choice.

Thanks for the reply. Ye I have removed the areas where damp is present. The rest of the boards are dry and I have tested with damp meter. i may just remove all boards that are undamaged in order to get a better finish.
The leak is coming from the window seal. Do i need to replace the seal or just reseal it with correct glue/mastik?

thanks for your time

With Damian, replace it, as there may be an age crack on the seal which you can't see. All that hard work , only to get another leak from a dodge reseal.
