Restore Window Rubbers

What is the best way to keep window rubbers in good condition. Mine are beggining to stick to the windows & make it difficult to open the windows. Any suggestions would be gratefully received - thanks

I remember reading that a light dusting of talcum powder to the rubbers helps stop them sticking to the windows. Has anyone used this successfully?
