Rewiring the car to a 13 pin socket

HI.

Could do with some advice.

I have just bought a brand new Adria and the van has the 13 pin socket.

Would i be right in saying that if i rewired the grey and black cables from the car into a 13 pin socket then it would be job done or should i buy an adaptor that plugs into the car electrics.

Richard,

Yes - rewiring is a simple job, but care is needed. The 13 pin ISO 11446 socket fits in the same hole as a single 12N socket.

There's a wiring guide on http://www.eriba-amiga.co.uk/otr_towbar.html

And you need to a roll of self-amalgamating tape to bind the old 12N and 12S wires into a new single cable (for the water proof gland)

We've used 13 pin for about 10 years (Eriba caravans) and there's no downside - it just works.
