Hi,
Just a couple of things that I remember being told, maybe 50 odd years ago.

My father told me that the police cannot move you on, if you have set up camp after sunset.

And I read somehere that councils must provide grass verges along trunk roads, so that horse drawn vehicles can stop to rest and let the horse graze.

Probably no truth in either, but if there is ....... wasn't DC inviting suggestions for laws to repeal?

My mate set up tent in a layby (also fifty years ago) Police car stopped to investigate, but they were only interested in the age of his girlfriend.

Hi,
Ask Santa to give you the DVD of "Pacific Heights" for Xmas. Frightening and believable, even if it is set in Yankeeland.
After the Sydney Olympics, my son spent a year backpacking (in a 4000cc estate) round Oz. He tells us that he would park on the beach, only to be woken in middle of the night, by police "You are going to have to move you on!". But what they really meant was "Wake up, lets have a chat, cos I'm lonely". Junior needed his kip, so he usually moved on.

I have just come back from Coffs Harbour NSW , and up by the Headland at Sawtell beach where i used to walk every morning ,there was often a campervan there overnight , there were 2 lots of toilet facilities nearby complete with showers , and by the Creek there were free electric BBQ , they do a lot of wild camping over there , another thing that struck me was there was no parking charges in Coffs town ,multi storey or roadside no double yellow lines no parking meters ,
