Rod or other 'new' CRV owners

Visited NEC yesterday and we were advised that to use the new Honda CRV trailer stability system we have to use Honda electrics when having a towbar fitted - no other electrics will work. Can anyone verify / discount this please?

Hello Annie,

I'm away in Devon at the moment with the van, but using the Accord rather than the CRV this time. I asked everybody that I could think of, and to be honest I could not seem to get a definative answer from anyone. I asked the Honda dealer, the approved bar fitting company, Witters and the electrical people who supply Witters and none of them seemed to be brimming with Knowledge. I then rang Honda at Slough, and they told me that so long as the electrics are "correctly fitted " the TSA will function. Apparentl, according to them, the one bit that will not work is the brake lights in conjunction with the TSA. I would be tempted to double check with Honda at Slough as I expect by now, they will have more knowledge on the subject. I would be interested to know who was so well versed in the subject at NEC!!??

Hi Rod

It was a guy on the Witters stand at the NEC who told us that. We will probably ring Honda to see what new knowledge they have! We think we know what van to buy now - just need to find the money!

Enjoy your holiday

Annie
