Roof damp

HI, so i had a couple of ceiling lights down today (1 at front and 1 at rear) and noticed the wiring looked damp. Poked my finger in the hole in ceiling and sure enough it was damp. Van has been closed up and covered all winter until 24 hrs ago and we have been in van with heating on since. Could this be condensation? Or do you think it is rain ingress?

Hello Dangermouse

Welcome to the forum.

I can rationalise either condensation and water leaks being likely causes for what you have found.

If the caravan has been covered, and I presume the cover was waterproof, then the most likely cause would be condensation.

But equally if the caravan has been leaking before you covered it up, or the cover was not waterproof then it could still be wet, as its been raining a lot recently.

I hope its condensation, but even that suggests you might have a problem.
Rather than rewrite all the necesary points I suggest you read this recent thread Damp Traps
