Roof light/vent

Hi all, I have a Chalenger 490sel with standard roof vents.
I have to park the van close to a cheery tree and when it sheds its blossom it comes in through the middle vent that is closed, it must be blown under and in by the wind.
Any cheep suggestions on how to stop this, I did think about cutting the tree down but it belongs to the council and they may object.

get some cheap car wash sponges and close the rooflight down onto them, it might work
