Hello, can someone post the best route around Paris please. I know it's been on here before but can't find it. We will be approaching from Lille motorway and need to pick up the A10 towards Limoges. We are travelling Monday. Any help greatly appreciated!

Assuming that you would prefer to avoid getting in too close to Paris there are two routes worth considering

1) From Lille/Dunkerque us A16 and head towards Rouen and then south via Evreux/Dreux/Chartres and then picking up A10 from N154.

2) Quicker if you are actually coming from Lille would be A1 towards Paris to C de G Airport and then pick up the A104/N104 around the east and south of Paris. This will be a bit busier but not to bad outsid ethe rush hour.

I'd use the Rouen route. Rouen traffic is not as bad as it used to be,and I think its the prettier of the two.

We normally do the A104/N104 from Lille as the route via Rouen would add a good hour to our journey time.

First instruction - switch off sat nav!! Coming from the North just follow the signs on the motorway to Bordeaux, ignore road numbers etc, just follow Bordeaux. This will take you round the South of Paris. Eventually you'll see the signs for Limoges and Toulouse.

Going back is even easier, just follow the signs for Lille.

i have just recently gone round paris--- It is as Paul says follow the signs for Bordeaux going south and Lille for heading north. I have done this trip quite a few times without any problems. Forget about maps or sat nav, just follow the signs ------
