On to pitch, level van, steadies down.

Fill aquaroll and fill water system.

Waste water container to drain points.

Electric cable to van then hook up post.

Kettle on , cup of tea. Fill toilet flush tank while kettle boiling and charge the cassette with chemical.

Everything else in whatever order it is needed.

We share chores.

While OH is levelling the van and putting down the steadies. I go and fill the water/Take the dog for a wee

My Oh continues outside EHU first, Hands everything from the car into the van. the continues with Waste, Toilet , Awning Etc

then second butt of water.

I go inside switch everything on, Hang up clothes, Unpack bags, Fill onboard tank, make the bed, set up the TV,Kettle, Fridge etc Etc,

Then I give my OH a well earned beer and myself a glass of wine.

Job done

The reason why I fill the water system before attaching the mains supply is to ensure that the electric water heater does not start heating without water being present in the tank.

I should have put this in my first post.sorry

no probs. but it wouldnt come on without you flicking the switch though would i?
Yes it could if you hadn't switched it off on your last trip. I don't switch anything on other than the water pump and the fridge. Then once the tank is filled I would then switch on the water heater and the fire. It an easy mistake to make and could cost you if you burn out the element.

So part of your pack up and go is. make sure everything and I mean everything is switched off. If you've an on board tank then that needs to be drained hot and cold. If you've an older van then make sure even the TV ariel is off (can drain the battery whilst your not using the van) And my big mistake was not switching the fridge off. Once in storage it was calling for fuel and drained the battery. Back to storage No mover caused the fridges flashing it had flattened the battery. Loads to learn and you will mostly by your mistakes. We've all been there done that. BUT enjoy whilst your learning.

Once the 'van is levelled and the legs down, I do the "outside" - gas, water, waste, etc etc while SWTSMBO does the inside (including kettle or beer depending on climatic conditions) ... once sorted we then both do the awning if it's being used.

:)
