Runflat Tyres

Hi,

Im looking to replace my caravan tyres for the new season (February/March) and I was wondering if you can get runflat tyres for caravans and whether they are suitable

thanks,

Keith

There may be the odd size available, but on the whole I think you'll find that run-flat tyres don't come with the load carrying capacity that you need for a caravan.

don't know about that lutz, there might be some out there. i remember the first ones i came across were fitted to my armoured personnel carrier, and it had bridge class of about 10 ton.

According to hubby they still use them on the emergency service vehs, but it is only the likes of the major tyre dealers you can get them from.Hope this helps.

right i'll have a look. It just came into my mind that they might be a useful addition to the safety features of a carvan.

thanks

Yes, but they can't be described as runflat as one can't drive any great distance with a deflated tyre even with Tyron bands fitted.
