Sad or What !!! Do I Need an Anorak

Nice day here in Aberdeen quite warm at 12C.

So I thought I would go and check the van at the storage. We had the van out in January up to Braemar, and it had been snowing with Grit/Salt on the road. So I filled the Aqua Roll with warm water and loaded it into the car, and off I went and washed the van. Question does anyone else every wash their van in the storage yard, especially when the van starts to look sad and lonley & dirty !!!!. I know now it is relatively clean and ready to go for the 1st March. Anyone else noticed how the nights are starting to draw out. It's a case of on your marks, get ready, get set and GO.

Val & Frank

Your not alone Frank ,i washed mine today after doing over 500 odd miles with it over christmas and the new year ,it was really filthy you could write your name in the dirt ,so as we are off to Tredegar House on saturday i thought i would give it wash ,if the forecast had been wet i wouldnt have bothered

Hi frank

I travel 11 miles to get my van out of storage and bring home, then give a good wash and shampoo, plus an interior clean and polish and a thorough check on the tyres and running gear and I do this every 4 weeks.Am I an anorak, probably!!!!

But I know that I must look after my investment if it is going to last me.Do they still sell anoraks ?

Who cares if we are all anoraks, there is nothing wrong in taking care and pride of the van.

It is so satisfying to see the gleeming white or off white in the case of the avondale.

Don't they just look stunning after a polish, not done that this year, will do it in March. It is certainly a whole days work though.

Passers by do tend to make comments though as they walk pass, generally you look busy or sad git!

Oh well, each to their own.

I think they call them 'hoodies' these days Allen.

Hi Val & Frank,

Yes, we've noticed too that the nights are really drawing out. Great!

Our previous caravan storage had a handy hardstanding area with a hose and brushes etc., where you could wash the caravan down at any time.

It was a CASSOA Gold storage site, but because it was an hours drive to get there from home, we put our name down for a space to come up on one nearer home, which it did after a few months and we now wash the caravan on our driveway, before we go away.

We don't use our caravan mid November to the end of January (we do turn the wheels, though) and will be getting it out any day now for a spring clean ready for the new season - can't wait!
