Hi

Has anyone had experience of the C + C site at Sandringham? It looks great - but I'd like to hear of any personal thoughts on the ups / downs of the site.

Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark, did you mean the Caravan Club site, or the Camping and Caravanning club one?

We've stayed at the CC one several times, haven't stayed at the C & CC one but did go to have a look at it.

The CC one is almost all hardstanding, very well laid out, beautifully kept, wonderful toilet block kept immaculate. Wardens are lovely too. We went for Christmas last year and are going again this year, everyone decorates their vans and awnings and it looks wonderful! The wardens hold a little party on Christmas Eve with wine & nibbles and all invited - the only downside being reception where they hold it is very small!

Lovely walks through the surrounding woods, you can walk right through the woods to the 'Big House'. Really nice cafe and Visitor Centre/Shop outside the 'Big House'. Lots to do in the area too.

The C&CC site is mostly grass, very informal, lovely natural looking setting amongst the trees. As we haven't actually stayed there I can't tell you any more than that!

Hope this helps.

Hi Mark, we stayed at Sandringham CC site last October for two weeks. We had quite a bit of rain on some days but it all drained away well. We were on a hardstanding at the far end of the site and could hear the main road especially at night, but it didn't bother us unduly. I suspect other parts of the site will be quieter as it is lower and the trees wil act as a baffle. The C & CC site has the shop which is about a half mile or so stroll through the woods from the CC site. The shop has papers and lots of food items and other goodies. If you are a dog owner the walks from the site are great, straight into woodland from several differant exits around the site. The walk to Sandringham House is lovely. TV reception is good if you are plugged into the bollard. North Norfolk is a lovely area and great for bird watching if you are into that sort of thing. The RSPB site at Titchwell is very good. The beaches are good especially at Sunny Hunny and Holt. Enjoy

I think the YOBS only use Sandringham at Christmas.

The rest of the year they're swanning around the world spending taxpayers money ;O)

Have stayed there three times and loved it, great walks, VERY quiet and listen for the owls flying at night, just the sound of their wings. Very spooky ;O)

Hi Brian, we took photos of all the ones with lights on, but unfortunately they didn't come out very well....combination of rubbish camera and lack of technique, I think!!

Don't recall your outfit specifically, but will look out for you next time (we're going again this year, are you?).

We're the Adria 642 T/A and green Range Rover.
