Sat. Dish Alignment

Recently added this little app to my iphone,

Have to say having used it a couple of times and nothing short of brilliant. No need for the compass and trying to guage elevation or in our case looking back notes to previously visited sites only to find we had forgotten to record the elevation.
If this has been mentioned previously please accept my apologies.

Hi,
Just select the sat. you use by touching the dish symbol and the direction will come up.
Next touch the compass symbol and rotate to give you the exact direction and finally touch the information symbol for your elevation and as they say "job done"
One of these little apps that shows of the wonders of this age.

its ok if you have an iphone, i dont and dont want one, i use a compass ,set at 144 deg and away we go , so the money i save on a fancy phone i can spend on more days away.

I have what you call a fancy phone, although its andriod based. its a sat nav and a good one at that its a computer too it houses 500 of my favourite songs its an encyclipidia of info a freeview tv and indeed a tv of french german and italian channels too.Its battery life is superior to that of a computer and quicker to charge up. its 5 inches long fit in my pocket and frankly does what 3 or 4 other devices are needed to do,and you can even call people on it. it acually saves me money so i can go away more so and i dont need to carry so much stuff either......each to their own
