Further to my previous comment on the TomTom 750 and the comment after it. it does come with the ownership of maps of whole of Europe BUT you can only load a "set" of countries onto the Satnav internal memory, to change sets of countries you need to take your computer and download a change of country. For example it will not take you from UK to Croatia (as we have done) without downloading from the computer. Thats why you need the external memory to keep the Satnav fully loaded

! I have had my tom tom 750 live since december 2009, it comes fully loaded with western Europe! Had it replaced in march 2010 it came fully loaded with western europe,I naughtly had it replaced again just before the years warranty ran out,The replacement came loaded up yet again with western Europe. There is no reason to load and unload countries, infact Croatia is fully loaded,i have just checked.
The 750 live comes with a 2Gb hard drive that contains all of western Europe, i also have a 4GB micro sd card installed for those extra i want to download from tom tom home. Even if for some unknown reason your tom tom 750 does not hold all of western Europe on its hard drive as it should, you only need to buy a micro sd card and download whatever you have missing, but i for one would phone tom tom help line because.......

PS have just done put a route in my tom tom from home to Zabgreb 1147 miles.

right this is even more confusing! I diffinetely have a 750 live, it has All of Europe,or what looks like all of europe. they should have 2gb of internal hard drive All of europe is 2.2 gb! I quote tom tom maps ,Maplins have 750 live but they claim to have 4gb internal map! mine cannot be 4gb as i have only 100 odd mg spare on internal hard drive.but i have Croatia and will now try a route to the Ukraine Alt

Yep i can get to kiev too, except it seems coverage is main roads Only,as too is the route to Zagreb, and coverage of crotia is 60% even in the All europe version. So i still cannot see why you need to unload and upload maps,If you have bought a map of all europe you only need to put 200 odd mb onto the micro sd card and its done

I've got a 730 and it also came with all of Western Europe loaded. However, the problem arises when you try to update the maps and the new map simply won't fit in the full version and the installation fails. There are ways around this and one is to use TomTom's Mapzone option which only loads that bit of the map that you are most likely to use. Another way is to delete some stuff which comes as standard but which is not needed (like some of the language alternatives). I've never quite understood why TomTom sell their satnavs with such limited memory, but it is quite easy to get around if you've got the option of installing a memory card - not all TomToms do! I soon got fed up with the hassle when updates were due and installed an extra 4Gb SD card to mine - no problems with map sizes since.

I have been told that the biggest drawback with Snooper is that you cannot enter your own POIs. Has this changed? If you cannot enter your own POIs then it cannot be a very good system.
