the tom tom go is indeed plenty loud enough for most people, however some may find it difficult with road noice etc. what tom tom have now done is released a in car cradle that allows you to link the unit to your cars stereo sytem, it will lower the music volume automatically and give its directions via the car speakers so you can have it as loud as the stereo will allow. i think you need to upgrade your tom tom go to the latest version five software for it to work but this is really easy to do via the tom tom web site. i got my download about 2 month ago for free but the site now appears to want to charge. this upgrade is really worth while just for the better graphics and display and you also get a compass display on the front screen, better still it allows you to use all the points of interest software with no problems unlike the 4.2 version and last but by no means least you set the volume for town driving and as you speed up the volume automatically increases to overcome road noise. if any one is intersted in the software but can not find it for free, leave a post on the forum and i will try to find where i stored it and send it by e-mail to you.
