Satellite TV in Spain

Can anyone offer advice on what size dish is recommended for SKY reception in Sth. Spain and where to shop on the web for such equipment. All help appreciated.

Hi Dave

Have a look at David Sullivan's site "www.satelliteforcaravans.co.uk"

I got all my gear from Melksham Satellites Ltd

Check around for prices as it is four years since I got my stuff.

Cheers

Alan

I have an 85 cm dish and have used it at the two sites mentioned by Allen - but only on Astra 1, not Astra 2. The general opinion at La Manga seems to be that whilst it is not impossible to get Astra 2 on this size dish, it is very critical and requires a lot of expertise. Most people who watch British TV via Astra 2 use a satellite of about two metres in diameter. You can, of course, get some English speaking stations on Astra 1 (such as Sky news), but non of the popular entertainment ones.

If you can't get good reception on Astra 2, I think you'll find that there are more English language transmissions on Hotbird at 13
