This is probably a really stupid question, but if I build up a sat system for the 'van and use a SKY box rather than a freeview box, will it work with my SKY viewing card from my box at home, or are the cards coded to the boxes?

Sky Free view cards will work in any box. Subscription cards are dedicated to the box it has been configured to. Good luck.JTS.

just to add to JTS' reply. A subscription card will work in another reeceiver, but you will only get the standard channels - you won't get your subscription ones, eg Sky Sport

Hi Dale

Is there any reason why you couldn't take your Skybox and card from home? that's what we do.
That's what I'll do then - I was just being lazy as it's all wedged in to built in cabinets...

You can have one box at home and another in the caravan. The Sky card will work on both except that you will not be able to get Premium channels like Movies and Sport, however if you phone them, they will align the card to the box in the caravan, but you will need to phone them again when you change back. You can always say it is a spare box while yours was being repaired.
