We have at home Sky TV with the recorder box and extra channels, if I bye a second dish and a stand (about £40), can I take my home box with card and use it in the van.
Now I have not a clue myself and number one problem would be to convince Pat as she is not to keen on me playing with our TV equipment.
I remember several years ago I fiddled with the TV and lost most of the colors and had to call an engineer out.
So what I need is Satellite for dummy's.

We take our home Sky Plus Box with us all over Europe have a large dish on a tripod and get excellent reception all over. You really need it when away for 2/3 months in a foreign country where they speak different languages to us. Nice to keep up with your favourite programmes whether in UK or Europe.

I have had a very quick read and it looks as if I can just unplug my Sky box and bye a disk.
I will have to do some more reading but looks good.

Simply disconnecting your Sky box and reconnecting it to a portable dish is the simplest way to get Sky in your van — things only get complicated if you want to use your Sky viewing card in a second Sky box.
Provided you're careful when disconnecting/reconnecting the dish cables, there should be no risk of damaging anything — the screw-fit 'F connectors' are pretty sturdy.
As Deli Dave suggested though, it's a good idea to fit some push-fit F connectors to the dish cables at home and in your van. These screw onto the existing satellite dish co-axial cable F connector connector and then allow you to simply push the plug into the socket on the Sky box, rather than screw it in, which means it's much less hassle to move the Sky box around.
These connectors are pretty cheap — they're less than £1 on this site, but they're widely available elsewhere.
