Your Lordship it's the Sunncamp Scenic and the Panorama Base camp and I agree with you that the Sunncamp Scenic is the better quality, hope this clears up any confusion.

I must apologize for His Lordship (he's at a funny age)>

If this is the type of awning you are going for choose the Sunncamp Panorama rather than the Quest Basecamp. I've had both and theres no comparison.
Too much champers at lunch time?

Hi Joe

We also have a Avondale 556, and we also have a Scenic Plus Awning, must admit we were concerned as to whether we could use this type of awning because of the close proximity of the two bunk windows to the door, we place it between the door and these two windows, you just have to be careful if you want to open the top window wide as the awning is fairly close and will rub the canopy, but the bottom window can't be opened wider than the the catch for airing, but we looked at all alternatives and couldn't find anything better to suit our needs.

Joe, I don't know the layout of your caravan, so perhaps this is completely irrelevant, but I wonder if you share the problem we have of a door at the front of the van which makes it virtually impossible to fit a porch awning of any description? After looking at every option, we decided to buy the Scenic Plus. This will not fit over the door, but then nothing other than a full awning would, so we have to forgo the benefit of a true porch. However, by fitting it on the straight stretch of rail beside the door, we have at least gained useful space in which to sit and eat when the weather is less than perfect. It also provides us with somewhere to keep chairs and other bits and pieces dry overnight or when we are out during the day time.

We have been impressed with the performance of the Scenic Plus. It appears well made, is quick to put up and take down, lightweight and packs down into a small kit bag for travel. So despite the fact that it is not the perfect solution, we feel it has enhanced our enjoyment of our caravan.

Hi

we have a Scenic Plus and are happy with it in the main, except that it has imploded on a couple of occasions duing exremely high winds, and this has resulted in the horizontal poles denting the 'van.

We will get a couple of sponges or rubber suckers to 'spread the load' and nullify any damage to our new 'Van (we are currently totally frustrated without a caravan having trading in for a new Bailey Bageant Burgundy with a delivery date in March 2006).

Disclaimer: any spelling mistakes are down to Grouse!

The whole Scenic Plus awning blew in - the wind was that strong it made all the fibreglass poles flex the opposite way which is far better than the poles breaking. I just pushed hard at the centre of the awning and the poles returned to normal.

Our 2 dogs were still in their beds, but with the awning covering them - both had a surpised look on their faces!
