Just come back from France in a a motorhome where we enjoyed free camping on their abundant 'free' aires. I understand Scotland has more relaxed laws re camping wild but does this apply to motorhomes aswell ? We're hoping to go early September

Never mind Scotland, you can get plenty of free parking in England and Wales. All you have to do is find a layby or any other patch of ground and help yourself.

To save being bothered too much for breaking local by-laws it helps if you tow with a flat back pick up or a transit van.

Rioja is correct it would appear you can't be moved on now alll you have to say is your a traveller. By the way Traveller is the term used by the Scottish Goverment.

In reality it would depend on your location, I see many MHs parked up for the night in remote areas.

Question

When you do park up in Remote/Wild camping place do you settle down for the night in normal night attire or do you just keep a tracksuit on !!!!!

The police would do a PNC check and find your motor home is registered to your home address. They would then know you are not a "traveller" and you would be moved on - while the travellers would be left to decorate the surrounding area as only they know how.
