Hi there,

Is anyone going or visited this show in the past that can give me some info.

I am considering a visit this year, but will probably only go for one day, is it worth the travel up from Newcastle Upon tyne?

How big is it? is there a good cross section of models to see? will i be able to see an Eriba caravan there?

I live to far from the nearest Eriba dealer to just go look to be nosey consdiering I am not currently looking for a new caravan, I am simply going along for the fun.

Many Thanks.

Andrew.

Hello Andrew.

I would not recommend comung from Newcastle for this show. Have been the last 2 years and would say that caravans only make up a small part of the show. This show is run by the dealers not the manufacturers. On a final point after last year's show i posted a question on the forum asking what other members of the forum thought about it and only got one reply. As j says try the web site and you should get a list of all products being displayed. Good luck.

Hi Andrew,

Did you venture up to the Scottish show? If so what did you think of it.

Maybe some other members of the forum would also like to share their impressions of it.

We went to Glasgow SECC on Friday and were pleasantly surprised. Its been two years since we last went to the show and have to admit I was not that impressed the last time. I had also heard that very few manufacturers were going to be there this year.

I don't think any touring caravan manufactures were present but there were more dealerships represented than previously and a wider range of vans than I can recall from previous visits. As well as seeing the "normal" Bailey, Swifts, Lunars etc. We were also able to have a look at some Airstreams. Certainly different but at 43 grand you would expect something out of the ordinary. We were also able to get a close look at some Hobbies and Fendts, first time I'd been inside any of them

A good selection of motor homes on show also. A lot of static vans, chalets and log cabins for anyone interested in that. I think there was only one dealer displaying tents and there were no trailer tents (wonder if the market for them is falling away)

The usual smaller exhibits selling wide range from outdoor clothes, to garden furniture and tools. Towsure had a display there with some items further discounted.

I went primarily to look at the motor movers. Powrtouch, Truma and Reich all had stalls there but only Powrtouch seemed to be attracting attention

I know Jonic visit this forum, they had a display there, we got a couple of memory foam pillows. They seemed to be selling well, when we passed by the stall at first there was a huge pile of them so rather than carry them around the show we decided to wait and get them on way out, on return got the last two.

We enjoyed the visit but I feel the show compares poorly with the coverage I've seen of the N.E.C. show. I had been hoping perhaps that there may have been reps there from the likes of Calor Lite, and Alko so that I could have got some info from them on the new gas bottles and the ATC system.

A good day out, anybody going over the weekend remember not to spend all your cash in the show, you'll need
