scratches

Hi, it may be a strange question but iv'e dropped a borrowed digital camcorder and it has scratched the side of it.

Does anyone know if this sort of damage can be repaired maybe in the same way car bumpers are touched up.

What exactly have you scratched - the camera? - the car? - a caravan? - could you elaborate perhaps?
