Sealant for motorhome roof joints

I have a Lunar Champ. What type of sealant should I use on the roof to seal the roof joints and make them watertight. Would it be high modulus or low modulus? What about the UV light and summer sun? Do I scrape off the existing sealant, so cover it?

Is there any DIY website to show how it is done?

Hi Bruce

To remove the old sealant use a plastic scraper and white spirit.

Your dealer will advise you on the best sealant, a good quality sealant such as Hodgsons should do the job.

Silyl Modified Polymers (SMP) are the main components of a new generation of solvent free and isocyanate free sealant and adhesive products. A broad application field with specific characteristics and demands, like adhesion on a wide range of substrate materials, in combination with a minimum of required surface pretreatment, paintability as well as temperature/UV resistance, are characteristic for these type of products. Go for the SMP tape sealant
