We used Safeguard once and that was once to often and the caravan was on a seasonal site. Terrible customer service once you have paid for the policy.

Just for the record had a quote from the
1, Caravan Club New For Old Policy £550
That for a brand new Elddis Crusader Super Sirocco Twin Axle £24994
I have been caravaning for over 30 yrs plus and in that time had one Claim
The caravan we had was sold in ( July) because i nearly had a bad accident and my doctor advise me to .
My wife suggested trying Seasonal and now i am looking forward to it ( We have some ramps for my wheelchair) to go through the door and a handle to help me to get in ( Luckly it a L Shape Lounge so there be plenty of room)
Regards to you all

Hi beachball.
years ago we had a static caravan and used this company for our insurance also when going back to tourers again we stayed with them.
Fortunately for us which is of no help to you I am unable to say how good they are because in my opinion you only find out the worth of any insurer when you have an actual claim. Which we never had.
however I will say their rates were always very competitive and something I value, is when you contact them you are quickly speaking to a real person able to deal with your query.
we now have a tourer 2010 vintage which we got new and only changed from Drew because the deal offered by the caravan club was better for the "new for old" part of the policy.
again I don't want to test how good my new insurers are but can say I only left Drew for the slightly better deal I have mentioned.
Sorry not to be able to give a realy helpfull answer but thought I would share my positive experience of the company.
regards Brian

Hi Beachball

Safeguard are an intermediary and at the moment use Axa Insurance for touring caravans. I'm not sure if they have classified yours as a tourer on a seasonal pitch or static.

Axa generally are considered a reliable French Insurer. In fact they often act as co-insurer on the CC policies.
However the most important thing is that both you and they fully understand and agree the terms of cover you require and that you must be absolutely certain you fully comply with ALL special terms and conditions in regard to both the caravan and site security.

Enjoy your holds.

Don't want to upset you but AXA are the most complained about insurer according to the Daily Mail money page.
