Security tagging.

When we got our caravan just over a year ago now from Barrons we were given some security tags which we have hidden in various parts of the van. We were told that if the police have any suspicions of the van being stolen they just swipe the van with a bar code device and that would tell them who the rightfull owner is. Im just wondering if theres any one out there who has actually seen this process in operation.
 
If the tags you are refering to are electonic tags its simular to those used to chip a dog or cat .When a receiver is passed over a tag it picks up a unique number which when checked on a database will give your details.You should have filled out a form to register giving you details and the tag number...Brian.
