Why is no-one bidding on my awning? It is on ebay and so far we have had one bid at 99p - it is like new only used once so could anyone have a look and give me any suggestions what I could do to improve my chance of selling it for a half decent price?

My user name on ebay is mumofdaniel - wasn't sure if I was allowed to post a link to it but any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated

TIA Kath xx

It looks OK to me, and I see that you are starting to get a few bids.

Using a 10-day listing you are not likely to get much interest at first - a bid is a commitment to buy, and people may wish to be sure that another item won't come up on a shorter listing, perhaps nearer to them.

I doubt if you will get a lot more bids now until the las couple of days.

Hi Kath

I use ebay a lot, both for buying and selling.

The trend now is to bit within the last few minutes before the listing ends. It is annoying when you are a seller as if you think about it, if people bid in this way, you probably don't get what you are expecting (ie. less than you thought).

People can however, place a maximum bid and ebay will automatically bid up to that amount if another person or persons are bidding against you.

You could always get a friend to place a few bids for you to bump it up a bit but bear in mind, they might end up 'buying' it. You would then have to pay ebay the final selling fee. (Of course, that's not what I do).

Thanks for your comments guys - looking a lot better now thank goodness.

I was worried it was going to go for 99p for a minute then!!

Just want rid of it as it is absolutely massive and taking up a lot of space under the stairs at the moment - filling the whole cupboard actually!
