Hi William, rest assured you have bought a quality tourer, if you look in the buyers guide caravans section you will see a thread on the Virginia and other Bailey vans.

Haven't got the Virginia but much of the Oklahoma is the same.

We have done over 100 nights this year(including 5 weeks in France) and are very pleased with the towing and living aspects of the van.

Faults are a cracked chopping board and a split in the perspex cover on the fluorescent light in the toilet compartment

Hi William

i do own a virginia

all i will say is mine is at the factery being repaired with a list of faults? that our dealer could not or did not wish to put right.

it has now been gone for 4 weeks, communication with bailey is almost imposible

John G compared it to the oklahoma, I would not

i do agree on the 2 times it has been on the road it tows very well

Hi John sorry that you are having trouble with the van and Bailey

I meant that the Oklahoma was the same in that its the same bodt shell with the same length, weight and has the same furniture, fittings and accessories to go wrong.

Hi John G

yes the bodys are the same and i know the oklahoma is a good van

it is the other parts only in the virginia that are causing serious problems plus many small nigly things.

i.e we have serious creaking floor, gaps down wall,

the list of smaller items is endless, i.e cooker has not cooked a meal yet,had to stay dirty on our first trip out, shower door fell off, wheel rubbing on wheel arch. and i almost forgot a nice switch that says locker light but no light

Hi William, just to say CHECK the van over before you leave the dealers site. Make sure you understand all the fittings and what they doo. Ask the silly questions, make the dealer earn his profit, on two occasions we also looked at Bailey's offerings as caravans and came away dissapionted. Walls not fixed, gaps in the but end jionts in walls, door catches either not working or not fitted. Hope you enjoy your caravan, it may be a good one, we chose Compass 3yrs ago and regretted it. Now have a new Coachman, and no faults, ( touching wood- scratting head ),Bazz.

Hi john I had wondered if the wheel arch was going to get any nearer to the tyre so will keep an eye on it!!

The switch on ours does/did work a difficult to see light in the front corner of the gas locker.

It was so useless that I disconnected and used it to switch an external pump to fill the tank thus avoiding the stupid levers!!

Hope that you get it sorted.

I had a new Ford Cortina in 1963 with 47 faults on delivery and it got worse.I've never owned another Ford and I imagine that you feel the same about Bailey.

A brand new caravan for your first one??? All I can say is Enjoy!!! It might have a few teething problems but will all be new and squeaky clean. I think whatever caravan you possess, a modicum of DIY skills are required as something usually comes undone, falls off or stops working for some normally trivial reason.
